Introduction
Salesforce continues to raise the bar with its innovative releases, and the Spring ’25 update is no exception. Packed with cutting-edge tools and enhancements, this release empowers admins to optimize their CRM environments, drive productivity, and unlock new opportunities. Let’s dive into the 14 hottest features of the Spring ’25 release that every Salesforce admin should explore.
1. Choose Which Dashboard Widgets to Refresh (Beta)
In Reports and Dashboards Settings, enable the option “Let users refresh individual widgets for dashboards” to allow users to refresh specific widgets on a dashboard rather than the entire dashboard.
This is an intriguing update, though it might raise questions about the last refreshed date/time displayed on the dashboard.
2. Sort List Views by Multiple Columns (Generally Available)
You can now sort list view data by up to five columns simultaneously, making it easier to organize and act on information. Simply choose the columns you wish to sort and select ascending or descending order for each.
This customization is for your view only and cannot be saved as the default. However, you can quickly revert to single-column sorting by clicking on a column header not included in the multi-column sort.
3. Organize Your Data with Multi-Column Sorting for Related Lists
Similar to multi-column sorting for list views, related lists can now be sorted by up to five columns. Previously, sorting was limited to just one column. This enhancement applies only to your view and cannot be saved as the default.
For example, the Opportunities related list on an account can now be sorted first by Stage and then by Amount.
4. Edit List Filters Option Is No Longer Available
The Edit List Filters option in List Views Control has been removed. To modify list view filters, simply click on the Filters icon instead.
5. Allow Users to View All Fields for a Specified Object
Great news for admins: You can now assign permission to view all fields for a specific object, saving time and clicks. This feature is available for all standard and custom objects with field permissions. Additionally, users will automatically gain permission to view any newly created fields.
6. The View All and Modify All Object Permissions Have New Names
Salesforce has renamed some object permissions to make their purpose clearer. View All is now called View All Records, and Modify All is now Modify All Records. These updates help users better understand Salesforce security features.
7. Manage Included Permission Sets in Permission Set Groups via Summaries
You can now add a permission set directly to a permission set group from the permission set’s summary page. This reduces clicks and effort when managing permission set groups.
8. Remove User and Custom Permissions in Permission Set Summaries
Admins can now remove user and custom permissions directly from the permission set’s summary page, saving time. This update marks the beginning of more editable summary views, with further enhancements expected soon.
9. Get Improved Performance with the Enhanced Role List View
Salesforce has introduced a new user experience for roles. You can now view, sort, and filter user roles in a list format and edit them inline, improving efficiency.
10. Capture More Data with the Increased Limit of Custom Fields for Activities
Salesforce orgs with fewer than 400 million activities can now add up to 300 custom fields for activities—tripling the previous limit of 100.
11. Salesforce Forecasting Updates
Collaborative Forecasts Is Now Pipeline Forecasting
Collaborative Forecasting has been rebranded as Pipeline Forecasting for better alignment with other sales features.
Improve Pipeline Forecast Visibility with Manager Judgments on Opportunity Splits
Forecast managers can now apply judgments to shared opportunities split between team members. These judgments roll up through the forecast hierarchy, providing clear insights for leaders.
Forecast Your Consumption-Based Business
Consumption Forecasting allows sales teams to predict revenue based on customer usage patterns. It includes:
- Comprehensive data integration
- Predictive consumption insights
- Historical trend analysis
- Real-time updates
- Quota tracking for sales goals
12. Coordinate Your Sales Team’s Activities with More Transparency
Sales Action Plans let you assign tasks and events to team members, ensuring alignment and accountability. Link these plans to accounts, contacts, and opportunities, and use them to track progress toward growth goals.
13. Enhance Your Sales Strategy by Researching Accounts
With generative AI, sales reps can conduct external research on companies directly in Salesforce. Add the Record Research component to uncover insights like competitive strengths and KPIs, enabling more personalized sales strategies.
14. Track Progress Toward Sales Account Plan Objectives More Easily
Define criteria for success within sales account plans and automate updates based on activity. This eliminates manual tracking, standardizes goal measurement, and streamlines progress tracking across your organization.
