Top 8 Salesforce Consultants
for Growing & Mid-Market Businesses

Most "top Salesforce consultants" lists either skew toward enterprise SIs that will never return a call from a growing company, or they skew so small they ignore the realities of a mid-market budget and timeline. This guide is different.

We evaluated firms specifically on their ability to serve companies with roughly $5M to $100M in total annual revenue — from lean, founder-led businesses just past their first CRM build to mid-market companies running multi-team Sales, Service, and Marketing Cloud deployments. A few of the firms below also handle enterprise-scale work, which is fine — what matters is whether they treat a $40K project with the same rigor as a $400K one. If you're a VP of Sales Ops, RevOps lead, or founder deciding where to spend your Salesforce or HubSpot budget, this is written for you.

How this list was built: We reviewed Salesforce AppExchange ratings, G2 reviews, Clutch profiles, published case studies, and direct assessment of each firm's delivery methodology at the $5M–$100M revenue scale. Twopir Consulting is included with full disclosure; all other firms are evaluated using identical criteria.
Evaluation Framework

What SMB & Mid-Market Buyers Should Actually Measure

Enterprise-focused metrics — total certifications, Fortune 500 logos, global headcount — tell you almost nothing about how a firm performs for a $20M-revenue company. Here's what matters.

💰

Price Transparency & Scale Fit

Does the firm publish scoping ranges? Do they operate on fixed-fee or hourly? Predictable budgets matter whether you're spending $50K or $400K.

Time to Value

How quickly do they deliver a working system? Strong SMB and mid-market firms go live in 6–16 weeks depending on scope. Longer timelines usually mean enterprise process overhead.

🔗

Integration Depth

Salesforce alone rarely solves the problem. Can they connect your ERP, billing platform, marketing automation, and support tools — or do they hand off to a third party?

📊

Industry Experience

Generic CRM experience is worth less than one clean implementation in your sector. Ask for case studies with named clients in your vertical before signing anything.

🛡️

Post-Go-Live Support Model

Will they be reachable in month 3? Or does the relationship end at handoff? Managed services or retainer options are a strong indicator of long-term commitment.

Client Satisfaction Scores

Salesforce AppExchange CSAT,Clutch ratings, and G2 reviews.

Cloudsquare

cloudsquare.io · Los Angeles, USA
Salesforce Consulting Partner US-Based Delivery

Cloudsquare is a Los Angeles-founded boutique with additional US offices in New York and Austin, known for fast-moving Sales Cloud and Service Cloud implementations and a notable specialty in Salesforce-based lending platforms. Their "no long-term commitment" managed services model is genuinely SMB-friendly, and client reviews consistently mention responsiveness. The tradeoff: Cloudsquare is a Salesforce-only shop with no published HubSpot practice, so SMBs running marketing on HubSpot will need a second vendor for that half of the stack.

Strongest Use Cases
  • Sales Cloud / Service Cloud new implementation
  • Salesforce-based lending and fintech platforms
  • Org re-engineering for existing Salesforce customers
Watch Points
  • No HubSpot practice — Salesforce-only firm
  • No published Marketing Cloud or marketing automation depth
  • Smaller team means limited capacity for multi-stream projects
SMB & Mid-Market Price Fit: Good Time to Value: 8–12 wks HubSpot Integration: None
03

CloudMasonry

cloudmasonry.com · Chicago, USA
Salesforce Partner CPQ & Marketing Automation

CloudMasonry is a Chicago-headquartered boutique (additional offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London) founded by former IBM Salesforce specialists, with dedicated practices in CPQ and Marketing Cloud / Pardot. They publish clearer information than most peers about their service lines and have built a credible reputation through Clutch's fastest-growing B2B providers list. For SMBs needing CPQ or quote-to-cash specifically, they're a reasonable option — though HubSpot is treated as a secondary integration rather than a parallel area of expertise.

Strongest Use Cases
  • Salesforce CPQ and quote-to-cash
  • Marketing Cloud / Pardot implementation
  • Mid-size commercial Sales Cloud rollouts
Watch Points
  • HubSpot treated as secondary integration, not a core practice
  • Smaller team (50-60 people) limits parallel project capacity
  • Less published industry-vertical case study depth
SMB & Mid-Market Price Fit: Good CPQ Depth: Strong HubSpot Integration: Secondary

SmartBug Media

smartbugmedia.com · Irvine, USA
HubSpot Elite Partner Remote-First

SmartBug is the largest and most decorated HubSpot agency partner by award count, named North American Partner of the Year multiple times. Their depth covers the full HubSpot suite plus content, demand generation, and e-commerce, with a remote-first team serving US, Canadian, and Latin American clients. The tradeoff for SMBs: SmartBug is fundamentally a marketing and HubSpot agency, not a Salesforce implementation partner. Businesses that need both platforms working together natively will be managing two separate vendor relationships rather than one integrated team.

Strongest Use Cases
  • HubSpot full-suite implementation and optimization
  • Inbound marketing and demand generation
  • HubSpot e-commerce and content operations
Watch Points
  • No Salesforce implementation practice
  • Marketing-agency orientation, less RevOps architecture depth
  • Larger client roster means less founder-level attention
SMB & Mid-Market Price Fit: Moderate HubSpot Depth: Excellent Salesforce Integration: None

Aptitude 8

aptitude8.com · Huntersville, USA
HubSpot Elite Partner US-Only Delivery

Aptitude 8 is a technical RevOps consulting firm rather than a marketing agency, explicitly built for companies migrating off Salesforce or stitching HubSpot into ERPs and data warehouses. They reached HubSpot Elite Partner status faster than any other agency and state plainly that all delivery is in-house and US-based, with no outsourced or white-label work. The narrowness is the limitation: Aptitude 8 explicitly does not do marketing content, branding, or creative work.

Strongest Use Cases
  • Salesforce-to-HubSpot migration
  • HubSpot architecture connecting ERPs and data warehouses
  • Technical RevOps cleanup of "Frankenstein" HubSpot setups
Watch Points
  • No marketing, branding, or creative agency services
  • No native Salesforce implementation practice
  • Technical-only positioning may not suit non-technical buyers
SMB & Mid-Market Price Fit: Good Technical RevOps Depth: Excellent Marketing/Creative Services: None

Cloud for Good

cloud4good.com · Asheville, USA
Nonprofit & Higher Ed B Corp Certified

Cloud for Good is the most established Salesforce partner serving nonprofits and higher education, trusted by a large share of the largest US nonprofits and a majority of R1 research universities. As a certified B Corporation with a decade-plus track record and thousands of completed implementations, they bring genuine mission-sector credibility. For a commercial SMB outside nonprofit or education, though, this is the wrong fit: their methodology, case studies, and consultant expertise are built around donor management, grants, and constituent engagement, not sales pipelines or B2B revenue operations.

Strongest Use Cases
  • Nonprofit donor and fundraising management (NPSP/Nonprofit Cloud)
  • Higher education recruitment and student success
  • Public sector constituent engagement
Watch Points
  • Not built for commercial B2B sales pipelines
  • No meaningful HubSpot practice
  • Higher cost positioning for a pure-commercial SMB use case
Nonprofit/Higher Ed Fit: Excellent Commercial SMB Fit: Low HubSpot Integration: None
07

Sercante

sercante.com · Roswell, USA
Salesforce Summit Partner Pardot Specialist

Sercante built its reputation as the leading independent Pardot (Account Engagement) specialist, later expanding into broader Salesforce Marketing Cloud and analytics work, and was the first Salesforce-recognized Pardot product development outsourcer. With Salesforce Ventures as an investor and a presence across the US, UK, Ireland, and Canada, they have real depth in B2B marketing automation specifically. For SMBs needing broader Sales Cloud implementation, integration architecture, or HubSpot work, Sercante's specialization narrows their relevance.

Strongest Use Cases
  • Pardot / Account Engagement implementation and audits
  • B2B marketing automation and campaign influence reporting
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud and analytics
Watch Points
  • Narrow focus on marketing automation, not full CRM builds
  • No HubSpot practice
  • Less suited to companies needing broad integration architecture
Pardot/Marketing Automation Depth: Excellent Full CRM Implementation: Limited HubSpot Integration: None

DNL OmniMedia

dnlomnimedia.com · Poughkeepsie, USA
Nonprofit Specialist Small Boutique

DNL OmniMedia has worked exclusively with nonprofits since 2007, covering Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, HubSpot for Nonprofits, and legacy Blackbaud migrations alongside website and digital fundraising work. Their small, tightly-focused team has built deep niche credibility for mission-driven organizations on tight budgets. The honest limitation: this is a very small shop (under 25 people) serving a single vertical, so commercial SMBs outside the nonprofit space are outside their wheelhouse entirely.

Strongest Use Cases
  • Small-to-mid nonprofit Salesforce and HubSpot setup
  • Blackbaud-to-Salesforce migration
  • Nonprofit website and digital fundraising integration
Watch Points
  • Nonprofit-only; not built for commercial SMBs
  • Very small team limits capacity for complex, multi-stream projects
  • Limited large-scale integration architecture experience
Nonprofit Niche Fit: Strong Commercial SMB Fit: Low Team Size/Capacity: Very Small

Buyer's Playbook

How to Run Your Salesforce Consultant Evaluation

A six-step process that takes three weeks and saves you months of misaligned delivery.

Define the business problem before the platform

Before issuing any RFP, write a one-page brief: what breaks in your current revenue process, what metrics you're trying to move, and what a successful 90-day outcome looks like. Consultants who ask clarifying questions about this brief are the ones worth talking to. Consultants who immediately talk about features are not.

Shortlist on integration fit, not partner tier

Map every tool in your current stack — marketing automation, ERP, billing, support, payments, document generation. Then ask each candidate: which of these have you connected to Salesforce in the last 12 months? The firms that can reference a specific integration with specifics (not "yes we can do that") are the ones with real depth.

Ask for a same-industry case study

Request at least one case study from your sector with named outcomes: pipeline visibility improvement, lead response time, billing cycle reduction, time saved on manual reporting. If a firm has delivered in your industry, they'll have this readily available.

Evaluate the project lead, not just the firm

Ask directly: who will be my day-to-day contact, and what is their certification level? In boutique firms, you often get the senior architect from day one. In larger consultancies, your project may be staffed with junior consultants once the engagement is sold. Get the delivery team on a pre-work call before signing.

Pressure-test the timeline and scope assumptions

Ask what would cause the timeline to slip. Good answers reference specific risks: data quality issues in migration, approval delays on UAT, third-party API limitations from your tools. Generic answers ("scope creep") tell you the firm hasn't thought through your specific situation yet.

Clarify the post-go-live model before you sign

Who do you call in month 4 when a workflow breaks? Does the firm offer managed services or a retainer, or does the relationship end at handoff? The cost of re-engaging a consultant to fix someone else's work is substantially higher than a monthly retainer. Build continuity into the contract.

What to Avoid

Red Flags in Salesforce Vendor Evaluation

These patterns appear consistently in failed or over-budget implementations.

🚩

No published case studies

If a firm cannot provide at least two client case studies with named clients and specific outcomes, they are either new to delivery or hiding poor results. Neither is acceptable for a $30K+ engagement.

🚩

Vague pricing with no scope guardrails

"It depends" is not a price. Reputable SMB-focused firms will give you a scoping range and a clear change-order process before work starts. Open-ended hourly with no ceiling is a budget risk.

🚩

The "we can do everything" pitch

Firms that claim equal depth in every Salesforce cloud, every integration tool, every industry, and every company size are generalizing. Specialization is a sign of real delivery experience — not a limitation.

🚩

No named project lead pre-contract

If you cannot get a name and CV for your primary delivery contact before signing, the firm likely plans to staff your project with whoever is available at start date. This is how SMBs end up with junior developers on complex builds.

🚩

Handoff-only delivery model

Firms that offer no managed services, no retainer, and no defined post-launch support window are building you a system and leaving. CRM implementations require tuning in months 3–6 as real adoption patterns emerge.

🚩

Ignoring your existing tech stack

If a firm's scoping call focuses only on Salesforce and doesn't ask about your current tools — billing, ERP, marketing automation, support platform — they are planning to build you an island, not an integrated system.

Common Questions

SMB & Mid-Market Salesforce FAQs

Companies in the $5M to $100M revenue range should prioritize consultants with transparent pricing, proven delivery at their specific size (not just enterprise logos), integration depth across existing tools, and a track record of fast time-to-value — typically 8–16 weeks for an initial deployment. Partner tier (Gold, Platinum, Crest) matters less than relevant industry experience and client retention at a comparable company size.
A baseline Salesforce Sales Cloud implementation for a company under $20M in revenue typically ranges from $15,000 to $60,000. Mid-market companies in the $20M to $100M range, with more users, multiple integrations, and Marketing Cloud or CPQ in scope, typically see $60,000 to $250,000 depending on complexity. Boutique consultants with efficient delivery models can reduce this by 30–40% while maintaining quality.
HubSpot is faster to deploy and lower-cost at entry, but Salesforce scales better as complexity grows. Many companies start on HubSpot and migrate to Salesforce as they cross into the $20M–$50M revenue range, or run both in parallel — HubSpot for marketing, Salesforce for revenue operations. The right choice depends on your pipeline complexity, integration requirements, and growth trajectory.
Salesforce partner tiers — Registered, Base, Ridge, Crest (formerly Platinum) — reflect a combination of certified headcount, customer success scores, and annual revenue closed through Salesforce.partners have sufficient certified capacity and client scores for mid-market delivery. Crest partners handle enterprise-scale. For SMB and mid-market buyers, a Ridge or Crest partner that actively serves your size segment is more important than raw tier.
A focused Sales Cloud or Service Cloud implementation for a smaller company (under 150 users, 1–2 integrations) typically takes 6–12 weeks. Mid-market projects with Marketing Cloud, multiple integrations, or data migration from legacy CRMs extend to 12–20 weeks. Firms specializing in SMB and mid-market delivery tend to run faster than large enterprise consultancies with longer onboarding and project setup cycles.
