ZoomInfo Implementation & Consulting

ZoomInfo implementation and consulting, built so your CRM data holds up.

ZoomInfo is a B2B data and go-to-market intelligence platform. Installing it takes an afternoon; getting clean, non-destructive, credit-controlled enrichment into Salesforce or HubSpot is a design problem. Twopir Consulting builds that layer — matching keys, field mapping, enrichment jobs, deduplication, intent activation and the routing and reporting behind them. Enrichment your revenue team will actually route on.

Where Deployments Break

Why ZoomInfo underdelivers inside a CRM

Almost none of these are licence problems. They are configuration and architecture problems that surface three months after go-live, when reps stop trusting the record and operations stops trusting the report. The install is the easy part.

Match rates look fine until you check what matched

Matching on company name or a personal email address produces confident, wrong matches — a subsidiary mapped to its parent, a two-person reseller mapped to the brand it resells. Without the ZoomInfo Contact ID and Company ID stored on the record, nothing is reconcilable afterwards.

Enrichment overwrites the data your team trusted

Without a field-by-field overwrite policy, a scheduled job replaces a rep-verified direct dial with a switchboard number, or a negotiated segment with a firmographic guess. One bad overwrite cycle and adoption never recovers — people revert to their own spreadsheets.

Credits burn faster than the value arrives

A bulk job aimed at the whole database, or a trigger that re-enriches on every trivial field change, consumes an annual allocation in days. Sandbox testing draws from the same pool as production, so "we'll try it in a sandbox first" is not the safe move teams assume it is.

Exports multiply duplicates instead of resolving them

Records pushed in as new Leads land alongside Contacts that already exist, because no matching key or duplicate rule runs before the write. The cleanup lands on a CRM admin weeks later, by which time routing, reporting and sequences have all acted on the wrong copy.

Intent and visitor signals arrive with nowhere to go

Intent topics and WebSights identifications land in custom objects that no report, alert or routing rule ever reads. The signal is being paid for and nobody is acting on it — the most common form of shelfware inside an otherwise healthy subscription.

Routing fires before enrichment finishes

Assignment rules evaluate an inbound lead while its firmographics are still empty, so territory, segment and round-robin logic all read blanks. The lead lands on the wrong rep, and the fix is sequencing — enrichment has to complete before routing evaluates, not alongside it.

What ZoomInfo Is

What ZoomInfo does, and where our work begins

ZoomInfo is a B2B data and go-to-market intelligence platform. It provides verified company and contact records, buying-intent topics, and website-visitor identification, and it connects to Salesforce and HubSpot so that data and those signals land on the objects your revenue team already works in. On Salesforce it is installed as a managed package — the ZoomInfo Salesforce Native App — from the AppExchange.

It is not a CRM, and it does not design your data model, your routing rules, or your definition of a qualified account. ZoomInfo supplies data and signal. Everything that decides which records get enriched, which fields it may write to, what happens when its value disagrees with your rep's, and who the resulting record goes to is configuration you own — and that configuration is where most of the value, and most of the failure, actually lives.

That is the work Twopir Consulting does. We are a Salesforce and HubSpot delivery partner, and we implement ZoomInfo as part of the revenue infrastructure around it. Vendor documentation for the platform itself is published in the ZoomInfo Knowledge Center; what follows is our implementation practice, not a restatement of it.

How Engagements Start

Implement it, fix it, or build on top of it

"ZoomInfo consulting" covers three genuinely different pieces of work. Knowing which one you need changes the scope, the timeline and who on your side has to be in the room.

Three ZoomInfo engagement types, and how to tell which one applies
EngagementWhat it coversYou probably need this ifTypical shape

Custom build on ZoomInfoDevelopment beyond what the native app configures: enriching custom objects, waterfall enrichment across multiple data sources, ZoomInfo API and bulk-enrichment services, custom scoring models, warehouse and BI pipelines.Your revenue data model does not live only on Lead, Contact and Account, or you need enrichment logic the packaged app does not expose.Apex, Flow and integration development, specified and tested like any other custom Salesforce build.
Where configuration ends

The practical boundary is the object model. The ZoomInfo Salesforce Native App is built to read and write the standard Lead, Contact and Account objects, across standard and custom fields on them, and it ships its own custom objects so Scoops and Intent can be surfaced as related lists. Anything inside that surface is configuration — mapping, scheduling, permissions, rules — and should be delivered as configuration, because configuration survives the vendor's upgrades. The moment you need ZoomInfo data written onto a different object, blended with a second data provider, or transformed before it lands, you are in custom development, and it should be scoped, version-controlled and tested as such. We will tell you which side of that line your requirement sits on before you commit budget to it.

What We Deliver

The ZoomInfo work that actually changes the numbers

Six workstreams. Most engagements need four of them; which four depends on what your CRM data looks like today and how your revenue team is structured.

Matching, Dedupe & Data Governance

The foundation everything else stands on. We decide what a match means for your business before a single record is enriched — and make it reconcilable afterwards.

  • Match keys built on domain and ZoomInfo IDs, not company name
  • ZoomInfo Company ID and Contact ID persisted on every record
  • Duplicate rules and matching rules evaluated before write
  • Subsidiary, parent and franchise hierarchy handling
  • Data-quality dashboards that expose match rate by segment

Enrichment Design & Credit Control

Instant Enrich on creation, scheduled jobs for decay, and a written policy for what each one is allowed to touch — sized against the credits you actually bought.

  • Instant Enrich configured for inbound Lead, Contact and Account creation
  • Scheduled Enrich jobs scoped by list, segment and refresh cadence
  • Field-by-field overwrite, fill-blanks-only and never-touch rules
  • Batch sizing and job frequency planned against credit allocation
  • Re-enrichment triggers that fire on meaningful change, not every save

Salesforce Native App Configuration

The managed package set up properly: authentication, permissions, layouts and the Lightning components your reps see on the records they work every day.

  • AppExchange managed-package install and authentication setup
  • Permission sets scoped by role, not granted org-wide
  • Lightning components placed on Lead, Contact and Account pages
  • Export mapping and Salesforce import behaviour configured
  • Sandbox-first release path with a documented upgrade process

Intent, Scoops & WebSights Activation

Buying signals are only worth the subscription if somebody acts on them. We build the path from a surfaced topic to a task with an owner and a due date.

  • Intent and Scoops exported to custom objects as account-related lists
  • WebSights visitor identification connected into CRM records
  • Topic selection reviewed against your actual buying committee
  • Surge thresholds wired to alerts, tasks and sequence enrolment
  • Reporting that shows which signals preceded real pipeline

Scoring, Routing & Territory Logic

Enriched data earns its keep at the moment a lead is assigned. We sequence enrichment ahead of routing so assignment rules never evaluate an empty field.

  • Enrichment-before-routing sequencing in Flow or Apex
  • Fit and intent scoring models built on enriched attributes
  • Territory, segment and round-robin assignment rules
  • Speed-to-lead SLA clocks and escalation paths
  • Ownership rules for records created by ZoomInfo export

Custom Development & API Work

For the requirements the packaged app does not reach — custom objects, second data sources, or enrichment that has to run somewhere other than the CRM.

  • Enrichment onto custom objects through Apex and platform events
  • ZoomInfo API and asynchronous bulk-enrichment services
  • Waterfall enrichment across multiple data providers
  • Data warehouse and BI pipelines for coverage analysis
  • Rate-limit-aware retry, logging and error handling
Integration Architecture

Where ZoomInfo data moves, and in which direction

ZoomInfo rarely touches only the CRM. These are the connections we design and build most often, and what each one is actually for.

ZoomInfo & Salesforce

The Native App writes company and contact attributes onto Lead, Contact and Account, and reads your records back to match them. Sales works from one complete record instead of two partial ones.

ZoomInfo & HubSpot

Contact, company and deal records are enriched inside HubSpot so segmentation, lead scoring and workflow enrolment run on firmographics rather than on whatever the form captured.

WebSights & your CRM

A script on your website identifies visiting companies; those identifications flow one way into the CRM as account-level signal, so marketing and sales can prioritise accounts already researching you.

Intent & Scoops to Salesforce

Intent topics and tracked company events export into ZoomInfo's custom objects and render as related lists on the Account, where reporting, alerts and routing rules can finally reach them.

Marketing automation

Enriched firmographics reach Account Engagement, Marketo or HubSpot so segmentation and scoring use verified attributes; engagement data returns to the CRM record the rep is working.

Sales engagement platforms

Verified direct dials and business emails flow out to Outreach, Salesloft or Sales Engagement; activity and outcomes flow back to the CRM so the data that produced a meeting is traceable.

ZoomInfo APIs & bulk enrichment

Where volumes or custom objects exceed the packaged app, enrichment runs through ZoomInfo's APIs — asynchronous bulk jobs for backfills, synchronous calls for record-level lookups.

Warehouse & BI

Enriched CRM data lands in the warehouse alongside product and billing data, so total addressable market, coverage and penetration are measured against one account definition.

Connecting ZoomInfo is usually one strand of a wider stack problem. If several systems need to agree on the same account record, start with our revenue operations consulting practice, or read how we approach Salesforce Data 360 implementation when the CRM is one source among many.

Our Delivery Process

How a ZoomInfo implementation actually runs

Five phases, one continuous engagement. Most straightforward implementations run six to ten weeks; projects involving multiple integrations, data migration or a multi-cloud build typically run ten to sixteen. The first phase is where the timeline is actually decided.

Phase 01

Discovery & Data Assessment

We profile your existing records — duplicate rate, field completeness, how accounts are actually defined — and map the revenue process the data has to serve. This is also where we size credit consumption honestly, before anyone commits to a refresh cadence.

Phase 02

Architecture & Match Design

We decide the match keys, the field map, the overwrite policy per field, and where enrichment sits relative to deduplication and routing. Every later argument about "the data is wrong" traces back to a decision made here, so it is documented and signed off.

Phase 03

Configuration & Build

Managed package, permission sets, Lightning components, Instant and Scheduled Enrich, export rules, intent objects, scoring and routing automation — configured in a sandbox, with any custom development specified and version-controlled alongside it.

Phase 04

Validation & Rollout

We test on a deliberately small, representative batch and review what matched and what it wrote before widening scope. Rollout goes segment by segment with enablement for the reps and admins who will live in it, not a single all-org switch.

Phase 05

Operate & Optimise

B2B data decays continuously, so the work does not end at go-live. We monitor match rates, credit burn and field-level quality, tune cadence and topics against real pipeline, and hand your admin the documentation to run it without us.

Longer-running engagements usually continue under Salesforce managed services, where enrichment health sits alongside the rest of your org's monitoring and release cycle.

Client Outcomes

The same problem, solved on comparable builds

These two engagements are not ZoomInfo projects, and we will not present them as such. They are the same underlying work — getting external data and inbound signal onto the right CRM record, reliably, at volume — which is exactly what a ZoomInfo deployment has to get right.

Engagement

A bidirectional HubSpot and Salesforce sync replaced hours of daily copy-paste across a large distributed sales team. The work was architectural rather than cosmetic: agreeing which system owned which field, resolving duplicates before records crossed the boundary, and building reporting that both sides recognised — the same decisions a ZoomInfo enrichment design forces you to make.

Engagement

A call-tracking platform was connected to Salesforce so that every qualifying inbound call created a Lead automatically, with its source attached. The pattern is identical to intent and visitor activation: capture a signal outside the CRM, resolve it to the right record, create the work item, and make the attribution reportable rather than anecdotal.

Why Twopir

A data problem, solved as a systems problem

We help growing and mid-market companies solve complex CRM, integration, and business system challenges, and we work with enterprise organizations on the same problems at greater scale. ZoomInfo engagements land squarely in that work.

We start with the match key, not the install

The first deliverable is a decision about what constitutes the same company and the same person in your systems. Get that wrong and every downstream number — coverage, penetration, territory balance — is quietly wrong with it.

We treat enrichment as governed, not automatic

Every field gets an explicit rule: overwrite, fill only when blank, or never touch. Written down, reviewed with the people whose data it is, and testable. This single practice prevents the failure that kills adoption.

We connect the data to what it is for

Enrichment is not the outcome — routing, scoring, segmentation and forecasting are. We build the automation that consumes the enriched fields, and the reporting that shows whether the subscription is earning its cost.

We work on both sides of the CRM divide

Many teams run ZoomInfo against Salesforce and HubSpot at once. We are a Salesforce Partner and a HubSpot Partner, so the architecture is designed once across both rather than twice in isolation.

We are honest about the boundary

We implement ZoomInfo; we are not a ZoomInfo reseller and we do not sell you licences. That means our advice on edition, credit volume and whether a requirement justifies custom development has nothing riding on the answer.

Common Questions

Answers before the first call

Installing the managed package is the smallest part. A real implementation decides how ZoomInfo records are matched to yours, which CRM fields it may write to and under what conditions, how often enrichment runs and against which segments, how duplicates are prevented on write, and how the enriched data reaches routing, scoring and reporting. It also sets a credit plan, permission model and release process, so the deployment can be maintained after go-live.

Most straightforward implementations run six to ten weeks. Projects involving multiple integrations, data migration or a multi-cloud build typically run ten to sixteen weeks. The variable is almost never the ZoomInfo configuration itself — it is the state of your existing CRM data and how many teams have to agree on what an account is.

Not through standard configuration. The Salesforce Native App is designed around the standard Lead, Contact and Account objects — including custom fields on them — and it installs its own custom objects so Scoops and Intent can be surfaced as related lists. Enriching a different custom object is custom development: typically Apex or Flow that consumes ZoomInfo data from a standard record or calls the ZoomInfo API directly. It is very achievable; it is simply a build, not a setting, and should be scoped that way.

By scoping jobs deliberately and testing small. We segment which records are worth enriching rather than pointing a bulk job at the whole database, set job frequency and batch size against your actual allocation, and make re-enrichment fire on meaningful change rather than on every record save. A point worth knowing before you plan a pilot: enrichment run in a Salesforce sandbox draws credits the same way production does, so testing against a small representative batch is the safeguard, not the sandbox itself.

Usually, yes, and this is where a large share of our ZoomInfo work starts. We assess what actually matched and on what key, which fields were overwritten and with what, how many duplicates the deployment created, and where credits went. The remediation is normally a corrected match strategy, an explicit per-field overwrite policy, duplicate rules applied before write, and a re-enrichment pass over the records that were damaged — not a reinstall.

Yes. We are a Salesforce Partner and a HubSpot Partner, and a good number of our clients run both — HubSpot for marketing, Salesforce as the system of record. The design question in that setup is which platform owns which enriched field, so the two do not overwrite each other in a loop. We architect that once, across both, rather than configuring each side in isolation.

We implement ZoomInfo; we do not resell it, and we do not describe ourselves as a ZoomInfo partner. Our platform credentials are with Salesforce and HubSpot. You buy ZoomInfo directly from the vendor at whatever edition and credit volume fits, and we build the implementation around it — which means our recommendation on scope, edition or whether a requirement justifies custom development carries no commission either way.

Next Step

If you are paying for ZoomInfo and still cleaning data by hand, start with an assessment

A short assessment tells you where your match rate really sits, what enrichment has been writing to your records, where the credits went, and which of the three engagement types above your situation actually calls for. You get the findings whether or not you engage us for the remediation.
