Salesforce · Invoicing, Payments & Recurring Billing

Kulturra consulting and implementation, built around how you actually bill.

Kulturra Payment Center puts invoicing, card and ACH payments, and recurring billing inside Salesforce. Getting it installed is the easy part. Twopir Consulting designs the billing data model, gateway architecture, automation and controls around it — so invoices raise themselves from real records, payments post against the right account, and finance stops reconciling by hand. Implementation, configuration, custom development and ongoing support.

Business Challenges We Solve

Where billing and payment operations break down

Most organizations evaluating Kulturra are not shopping for a payments feature. They are trying to close the gap between where a deal is agreed and where the money is collected. That gap is where the cash, the accuracy and the finance team's week go.

Payments live outside the system of record

The deal closes in Salesforce, the invoice is raised in the accounting system, and the card is keyed into a gateway portal. Answering "has this customer paid?" means opening three applications and trusting none of them.

Manual invoice preparation does not survive volume

Invoices assembled by hand from quote or order data drift the moment pricing, tax, discount or shipping logic changes. Re-keying is where the errors, the disputes and the credit notes come from.

Recurring revenue is run on reminders

Subscriptions, retainers and installment plans tracked on a spreadsheet mean missed bill runs and silent expirations. Revenue stops arriving and nobody notices until the quarter closes short.

Failed payments and expiring cards go unworked

Without automated dunning, a declined card surfaces at the next renewal rather than on the day it failed. The recovery window closes quietly while the account still reports as healthy.

Chasing receivables consumes the finance team

Statements, reminders and "can you resend that invoice" requests are handled by hand, because customers have no way to view or settle what they owe on their own.

Card data ends up where it should never be

Card numbers appear in case comments, chatter posts and email attachments — almost always because there was no compliant way to take a payment at the point where the work actually happens.

Definition & Fit

What Kulturra is — and who it is for

Kulturra is a Salesforce ISV that has been building financial applications on the Salesforce platform since 2012. Its flagship application, Payment Center, is a native Salesforce app published on the AppExchange that brings invoicing, accounts receivable, credit card and ACH payment processing, in-person payments and recurring billing inside Salesforce itself — so billing runs against the same records your sales and service teams already use, rather than in a separate system that has to be reconciled afterwards.

Because it is native, Payment Center works directly with standard Salesforce objects: accounts, contacts, opportunities, quotes, orders and products. An opportunity, quote or order can be converted into a one-time or recurring invoice, payments post back against the originating record, and the whole transaction history stays reportable with Salesforce's own reports and dashboards. It supports major gateways directly — including Authorize.Net, Stripe, CyberSource, CardConnect, Adyen and Flywire — and connects to a much wider gateway estate through its Spreedly integration. You can check the current feature set in Kulturra's own product documentation.

Kulturra is a strong fit for organizations that already run revenue on Salesforce and want billing to live there too: subscription and retainer businesses, professional services firms, healthcare and education providers, membership organizations, and any team taking card or ACH payments against a CRM record. It is not an accounting ledger and not a general-purpose document generator. It produces the billing documents — invoices, statements, receipts and dunning notices — generated from Salesforce data on templates you control, and delivered by email or a self-service portal. Where a general ledger, revenue recognition or broader document automation is also required, those stay with your accounting platform or a dedicated document tool, and we architect the boundary deliberately.

Twopir Consulting works with growing and mid-market companies that need help with complex CRM, integration, and business system challenges, alongside enterprise organizations running multi-entity billing. Kulturra work sits inside our broader Salesforce consulting and implementation services, and our role on a Kulturra engagement is the architecture, configuration, integration and custom development around the app — not reselling the app itself. For the product overview see our Kulturra Payment Center integration overview, or the walkthrough in payment operations simplified with Kulturra Payment Center.

Three Different Engagements

Implement it, configure it, or build on top of it

"Kulturra consulting" covers three genuinely different pieces of work with three different costs and risks. Knowing which one you actually need is usually the most valuable hour of the whole engagement — so here is where the boundaries sit.

Kulturra Implementation

A first deployment: install the managed package, design the billing data model, connect the gateway, and get real invoices and payments running in production.

  • Managed package install and licence assignment
  • Billing object and relationship design
  • Gateway selection, merchant account and connection
  • Permission sets, profiles and sharing rules
  • Invoice templates, tax, terms and numbering
  • Sandbox build, UAT and production cutover

Kulturra Configuration & Optimization

You already own Kulturra but it is under-configured, half-adopted, or was set up for a business that has since changed. We fix what is there before anyone writes code.

  • Configuration audit against how you bill today
  • Recurring schedules, payment plans and dunning rules
  • Self-service payment portal on Experience Cloud
  • Flow-based automation for bill runs and reminders
  • Gateway migration and tokenized card re-vaulting
  • Reports, dashboards and AR ageing views

Custom Development on Kulturra

Where standard configuration genuinely stops. Kulturra exposes a REST API and Apex global classes, so the app can be driven from outside Salesforce or embedded in your own interfaces — the same engineering discipline we bring to Salesforce AppExchange app development.

  • REST API integration from web checkout or a portal
  • Apex invocation for custom payment pages
  • Lightning Web Components for branded pay screens
  • Custom billing logic, proration and entitlement rules
  • Middleware sync to ERP, GL and revenue systems
  • Test coverage, deployment pipeline and documentation

Kulturra Solutions & Capabilities

What we actually deliver on Payment Center

These are Kulturra capabilities — the platform provides them. What Twopir provides is the design decisions underneath: which object billing hangs off, which gateway, which automation fires when, and who is allowed to do what. Same app, very different outcome.

Invoicing & Accounts Receivable

Invoices generated from Salesforce records on templates you control, with the charge logic your finance team actually uses — then delivered, tracked and aged in one place.

  • Customizable invoice templates and numbering
  • Discounts, shipping, taxes and card surcharge
  • Down payments and multiple installments
  • Bulk print or email of invoice batches
  • Customer statements with automatic reminders

Card, ACH & In-Person Payments

Take payment wherever the work happens — from the record, from an emailed payment link, or from a card reader at the counter — with every transaction written back to Salesforce.

  • Credit card and ACH processing
  • Emailed invoices and payment request links
  • Card-present point of sale with terminals
  • Tap, chip and mobile wallet acceptance
  • Receipts generated and tied to the right record

Subscriptions & Recurring Billing

Recurring invoices behave like one-time invoices and use the same payment mechanism — they are simply scheduled. That makes subscription billing a configuration problem, not a build.

  • Recurring invoice schedules and bill runs
  • Retainers, memberships and payment plans
  • Auto-bill against a stored payment method
  • Schedule changes, pauses and amendments
  • Renewal visibility on the account record

Dunning & Collections Automation

The difference between a payments app and a collections system is what happens after a failure. We configure the follow-up so declines and expiries are worked on the day they occur.

  • Automatic overdue invoice notifications
  • Expiring payment method alerts
  • Retry and escalation sequences via Flow
  • Owner and finance task routing
  • AR ageing dashboards for collections review

Self-Service Payment Portal

Customers view and settle their own invoices in an Experience Cloud site. Every self-serve payment is one your team never chases, and the record updates itself.

  • Experience Cloud payment portal build
  • Invoice history and balance visibility
  • Stored payment method management
  • Branded, mobile-ready payment pages
  • Guest access and sharing model design

Security, Tokenization & Multi-Entity

Payment Center is PCI and SOC 2 compliant, and supports tokenization so card numbers are replaced by a gateway-issued token instead of being stored on the Salesforce record.

  • Tokenization enabled and verified end to end
  • Permission set and field-level access design
  • Separation of duties for refunds and voids
  • Multi-entity and multi-merchant configuration
  • Audit trail and payment intent monitoring
Kulturra Use Cases

How teams actually use Kulturra

The same app supports very different billing motions. What changes between them is the object billing hangs off, the trigger that raises the invoice, and how the money is collected.

Salesforce & Integration Considerations

The architecture decisions that decide the outcome

Most Kulturra implementations that disappoint were not badly installed. They were attached to the wrong object, pointed at the wrong gateway, or left without a path back to the general ledger. These are the decisions we make deliberately, before configuration starts — with the same discipline our enterprise integration services apply to any system-to-system boundary.

Billing Data Model

Which object billing hangs off — account, opportunity, order or a custom subscription object — determines every report you can build later. We decide it first, not last.

Gateway & Merchant Strategy

Payment Center connects to Authorize.Net, Stripe, CyberSource, CardConnect, Adyen and Flywire directly, and to a far wider estate through Spreedly. Choice drives fees, settlement timing and which card-on-file tokens survive a future migration.

Salesforce CRM

Accounts, contacts, opportunities, quotes, orders and products are the source data. Opportunities, quotes and orders convert into one-time or recurring invoices, so billing inherits the record hierarchy rather than duplicating it.

ERP, GL & Accounting

Kulturra bills; your accounting platform keeps the ledger. Invoices, payments and refunds move from Salesforce into NetSuite, QuickBooks or Accounting Seed so finance closes the month from one set of numbers, not two.

Salesforce Flow & Automation

Flow drives the operational layer around billing: raising invoices at the right stage, routing failures to an owner, escalating overdue balances, and updating the record so nobody has to check manually.

Experience Cloud

The payment portal is an Experience Cloud site. The work is the sharing model and guest access design — customers must see their own invoices and nothing else, which is a security decision before it is a UI one.

REST API & Apex

A REST API lets an external channel — a shopping cart, a booking engine, a customer app — initiate a payment that is processed inside Salesforce. Apex global classes do the same for custom pages built in the org.

Data Migration & Cutover

Open invoices, balances, subscription schedules and stored payment methods have to arrive intact. Tokens are gateway-specific, so re-vaulting is planned before cutover rather than discovered during it.

Our Consulting & Implementation Approach

How a Kulturra implementation actually runs

Six phases, one continuous engagement. A focused first phase — one entity, one payment method, invoices raised from an object you already use — is usually a matter of weeks. Multi-entity, multi-gateway, portal and migration scope extends it, and we say which you are in during phase one.

Phase 01

Discovery & Current-State Assessment

We map how money actually moves today: who raises an invoice, on what trigger, what gets re-keyed, where payments are taken, and how the month is closed. We also document the current gateway, merchant accounts and any card data sitting where it should not. This phase produces the requirement list and, just as importantly, tells you whether you need an implementation or a configuration fix.

Phase 02

Solution Architecture

The decisions that are expensive to reverse are made here: which object billing hangs off, how invoices relate to accounts and opportunities, which gateway and merchant structure, how multiple entities are separated, and where the boundary with your accounting system sits. We write it down and agree it before anything is configured.

Phase 03

Configuration & Template Design

Installing the managed package, assigning permission sets, connecting the gateway, and building the invoice templates — numbering, terms, tax, discounts, shipping and any surcharge — so the documents your customers receive look like your documents. Tokenization is enabled and verified here, not assumed.

Phase 04

Integration, Automation & Customization

Recurring schedules, dunning rules and bill-run automation built in Flow; the payment portal stood up on Experience Cloud; invoices, payments and refunds synced to the accounting platform. Where a requirement genuinely exceeds configuration, we build against the REST API or Apex global classes — and we say so explicitly rather than quietly customizing.

Phase 05

Testing, Training & Deployment

Gateway transactions tested in sandbox against real decline, refund, void and partial-payment scenarios — not just the happy path. Then data migration of open balances, schedules and stored payment methods, role-based training for finance and sales, and a controlled cutover with the old process available until the first clean bill run completes.

Phase 06

Support & Optimization

The first two bill cycles are where reality arrives. We monitor failed transactions and stranded payment intents, tune dunning against what customers actually respond to, extend reporting as finance asks better questions, and keep the configuration current through Salesforce releases and Payment Center upgrades.

Business Outcomes

What changes after go-live

The gains from a well-designed Kulturra implementation are operational before they are financial. Their size depends on your volume, your current process and how much of it is manual today — so we baseline it in phase one, the same way we baseline a sales and revenue operations engagement, rather than quoting someone else's percentage.

Shorter Invoice-to-Cash Cycle

The invoice and the way to pay it arrive together, so collection starts the day the invoice is raised rather than after the first reminder.

Fewer Data-Entry Errors

Invoices built from the record instead of re-keyed from it remove the transcription step where wrong amounts, wrong entities and wrong tax treatments originate.

Real AR Visibility

Balances, ageing and payment status report natively in Salesforce, so sales sees an overdue account before the renewal call rather than after the escalation.

Recurring Revenue That Runs Itself

Scheduled bill runs, auto-billing against stored payment methods and automated retries turn subscription billing from a monthly project into a monitored process.

A Defensible Compliance Position

With tokenization enabled, card numbers are replaced by gateway-issued tokens rather than stored on Salesforce records — and staff have a compliant way to take payment, so the workarounds stop.

Less Chasing, Better Adoption

Self-service payment removes routine AR calls from the finance team, and a billing process that lives where people already work is one they keep using.

A Faster, Cleaner Close

When billing data reaches the ledger through a designed integration rather than a monthly export, reconciliation stops being a search for the difference between two systems.

Billing That Scales With You

Multi-entity configuration, a documented data model and a supported upgrade path mean the next entity, product line or country is a configuration change rather than a rebuild.

Proof & Track Record

The work behind the recommendation

Kulturra is one component inside a bigger revenue system. What makes an implementation hold up is experience with everything around it — the CRM data model, the automation, the integrations and the finance process on the other end.

Practice Note
Almost every failed payments project we are asked to rescue was installed correctly. It was attached to the wrong object, pointed at a gateway chosen on price alone, or left without a route back to the ledger — so finance kept its spreadsheet and the app became one more place to check.

That is why our Kulturra engagements start with an assessment of how you bill rather than a package install, and why the architecture is agreed in writing before anything is configured. The same discipline applies whether we are implementing Kulturra from scratch, repairing a configuration, or building against its API.

Why Work With Twopir Consulting

A billing architect, not an app installer

Installing a managed package takes an afternoon. Designing a billing system that finance trusts, sales uses and auditors accept takes an understanding of Salesforce, payments and how your business actually invoices.

We start with how you bill, not with the app

Before anything is installed we map your invoice triggers, charge logic, entity structure and month-end close. What gets configured reflects your billing motion — which is why the same app produces a very different result in two organizations.

We tell you where configuration ends

Most of what teams assume needs custom code is standard Payment Center configuration. We show you the boundary in writing, so you are not paying for development that a setting already covers — or discovering mid-project that a requirement needs the API.

We are Salesforce architects first

As a Salesforce Partner we treat Kulturra as one component of a CRM architecture — sharing model, automation, reporting and integration included. A payments app configured without that context creates data problems that surface a year later.

We own the integration, not just the app

Billing that does not reach the ledger is half a project. Our integration engineers build and support the path from Salesforce to your accounting or ERP platform, including the error handling and retry logic that decides whether finance trusts the numbers.

We stay through the first real bill runs

Go-live is not the test. The first two billing cycles are, and that is where declines, stranded payment intents and edge-case proration appear. We are still there for them — and for the Salesforce releases and package upgrades that follow.

Kulturra Consulting FAQs

Answers before the first call

A Kulturra implementation covers six things: installing the Payment Center managed package and assigning permission sets, designing the billing data model so invoices hang off the right Salesforce object, connecting a payment gateway and merchant account, building invoice templates with your tax, discount and terms logic, configuring recurring schedules and dunning, and migrating open balances before cutover. The installation is the smallest part. The design decisions in the second step are what determine whether the system still works when your billing changes.

It depends on scope rather than on the app. A single entity, one gateway, one payment method and invoices raised from an object you already use is typically a matter of weeks. What extends a timeline is multi-entity or multi-merchant structure, a customer payment portal, migration of open balances and stored payment methods from an existing system, gateway re-vaulting of card tokens, and integration back to an ERP or general ledger. We scope which of those apply in the first phase, so the estimate is based on your requirements rather than an average.

Configuration covers invoice templates, tax and discount logic, surcharges, recurring schedules, payment plans, reminders and dunning, the Experience Cloud payment portal, and automation built in Salesforce Flow. Custom development begins when a payment has to be initiated from outside Salesforce — a web checkout or booking engine calling the Kulturra REST API — or embedded in a custom page through its Apex global classes, or when billing data has to be posted to an ERP or general ledger with proper error handling. Most requirements teams assume need code are configuration; we identify which is which before the estimate.

No. Kulturra Payment Center handles invoicing, accounts receivable, payment processing and recurring billing inside Salesforce. It is not a general ledger and does not perform financial consolidation or revenue recognition. Your accounting platform — NetSuite, QuickBooks, Accounting Seed or similar — keeps the ledger. The important design decision is the boundary between them: which system owns the customer balance, what moves across, in which direction, and how often. We define that in the architecture phase so finance closes the month from one set of numbers.

Payment Center supports a range of processors directly, including Authorize.Net, Stripe, PayPal Payments Pro, Payflow Pro, CyberSource, CardConnect, Adyen and Flywire, and reaches a much wider set of gateways through its Spreedly integration. The practical question is not whether your gateway is supported but which one you should use: the choice affects processing fees, settlement timing, which countries and currencies you can accept, and whether stored card tokens can be moved if you ever change provider. Confirm the current list in Kulturra's documentation before committing to a merchant agreement.

Kulturra describes Payment Center as PCI and SOC 2 compliant, and it supports tokenization: when tokenization is enabled, the card number is not stored on the payment or profile record in Salesforce — a gateway-issued token is stored instead, and that token is what gets reused for future charges. Enabling tokenization is the single most important configuration choice for your compliance position, and we verify it end to end during implementation rather than assuming the default. Your own PCI scope also depends on how your org, users and integrations are configured, so we review permission sets, field access and refund privileges as part of the build.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. A typical engagement starts with a configuration audit against how you bill today, because most under-performing implementations are correctly installed but were set up for a business that has since changed. From there the work is usually some combination of recurring billing and dunning configuration, building the self-service payment portal, gateway migration, integration to the accounting system, and reporting that finance can actually run. We also provide ongoing Salesforce support and managed services covering release and package upgrades.

Next Step

Bring us the billing problem, not just the software question

Whether you are evaluating Kulturra, part-way through an implementation, or running it already and not getting what you expected, the first conversation is the same: how you bill today, where it breaks, and what the architecture should look like. You will leave it knowing whether you need an implementation, a configuration fix, or custom development.
